Claudio Compagni got to photography in the maturity age but he was unavoidably fated to meet it.
Even if he approached it shyly, his photography has never been superficial; it has always been rich in contents, suggestions and charme: during his artistic career he has always kept excellent qualitative standards.
You could wonder when a picture takes shape inside him. I think this happens when he is able to see the harmony of colours, sinuous line, lights and shadows in a particular atmosphere which reveals itself to his sensibility.
A very important element to re-cognize the particular style of this artist is passion, that special feeling which leads him, even in the digital age, to wait as much as possible before doing the well-known click.
This photography explores every kind of subject, from portrait to nature, from still life to reports of trip, from the social engagement to the abstract field. However, there is always a leitmotif: to discover the beauty of the subject, even the least meaningful, by a hedonistic, instinctive and involving search.
Only the best can express themselves on several subjects in an apparent simple way.
The click is just an instant but it is the result of years of observations and experimentation. All that wouldn’t be enough to become an artist if there wasn’t another important ingredient you cannot learn: Claudio Compagni takes photos by his soul.
